The concept salon model also has a close alignment with the mission and vision of the Aveda brand. Though normally is not in the highest trafficked retail areas. These locations tend to do between $100,000 - $300,000 per annum.
The benefit of this model as well, is the productivity that a single line focus offers, the ability to be referred by the store division (over 320,000 referrals per year), and Aveda’s website which refers over 1.6 million people to its 2,300 concept salons each year.
The main difference between a Lifestyle and Concept is its location, its retail productivity level, and its ability to co-brand with Aveda. All other benefits are the similar.
The basic criteria for a Concept salon is as follows:
- Square footage – Typically 1200 sq ft or greater
- Retail square footage – 300-850 sq ft
- The mission of the salon is in complete alignment with Aveda’s mission
- Conducts only Aveda signature services
- Sells only Aveda products and carries all domains representation
- Utilizes exclusively Aveda products for back bar, styling stations, spa rooms and hair color
- Utilizes only Aveda retailing systems, fixtures, merchandising tools, and furniture in the retail area
- Participates 100% in Aveda’s technical education and retail education
- Participates 100% in Aveda’s retailing calendar and animation
- Utilizes the Aveda logo in the windows, in its collateral and in its menus
- Agrees to keep a minimum of $35,000.00 at cost, as a minimum stock level at all times in the salon as a retail product.
- Co-op benefits are awarded in both education and marketing
- Receives referrals from stores and the web
